Rock Island Wet Weather Plant

The City of Rock Island has a combined sewage system on the Mississippi River that could not handle the volume needed during heavy rains.  Helm was hired to upgrade the plant and provide excess capacity to treat the influent even during the heaviest periods including 265 MGD of screening and pumping and 90 MGD of clarification and solids handling. In addition to the process upgrade, an existing administration building was renovated under Helm’s contract.
