Awarded this multi-year project, Helm’s scope is complete enhancement to the entire heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) infrastructure. The upgrade included the installation of four new Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) units, accompanied by 102 Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes.
A key component of the upgrade was the installation of a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system. This system comprised 23 indoor water-cooled condensing units, 25 heat recovery boxes, and 115 VRF terminal units. The VRF technology facilitates precise control over heating and cooling in different zones within the building. With a focus on sustainable energy, a geothermal well field was installed to cool the condensing units and included 90 wells new geothermal wells, each reaching a depth of 450 feet.
Prior to demolition, Helm’s Virtual Design Team scanned each area of the project creating a model for early coordination of the project. This enhanced our efficiency with a focus on prefabrication to meet the condensed schedule.
