Helm Buys Engel Electric

Helm is excited to announce the latest new name to come under their umbrella, Engel Electric. In business since 1958, Engel and Helm have a long history of working together on projects. Engel touches many aspects of Helm including street signals and lighting, facility management, and commercial construction. Many of Engel’s electricians grew up in the industry with Helm’s ironworkers, sheet metal workers, carpenters, and other tradespeople.

Going forward, Engel will play a key role in Helm’s growth strategy. Helm will offer an electrical scope combined with its other scopes, particularly on projects where they are working directly for the end user. Wind, solar, and other green energy are a focus going forward as well as further development of building automation and power wiring.

With current Engel offices in Sterling and Rockford, Illinois, Helm will soon be expanding their electrical offering into Chicago and central Illinois. Helm wants to welcome the 65 electricians and office staff into the Helm family. We look forward to great things ahead.
